The Tallahassee Police Department is responsible for providing law enforcement services to the community. It consists of several bureaus, divisions, and units including Administrative Services, Operations, Records, Financial Management, Violent Crimes, and Burglary Crimes Unit.

Property & Evidence Sector:
The Tallahassee Police Department Evidence Section is responsible for storing evidence and other impounded property, and ensuring their integrity.
Records Unit:
The Records Unit handles all requests for public records submitted to the Tallahassee Police Department. Public records include copies of traffic crash reports, incident reports, arrest reports, and calls for service.
Financial Management Office:
The Financial Management Office is responsible for providing financial resources that ensure the successful operation of the department and the execution of its various programs. This office also oversees the purchase of any goods and services required by the department, except for the procurement of the vehicle fleet.
Criminal Investigations Bureau:
The Criminal Investigations Bureau handles all investigations of reported crimes. It consists of several specialized units including Property Crimes, Burglary Crimes, Financial Crime, Special Victims, and the Forensics Unit.
