Sarasota Police Department
The Saratosa Police Department is responsible for providing law enforcement services to the community. It consists of several divisions and unit which are Criminal Investigation, Patrol, Support Services, Professional Standards, and the Records Unit.

Criminal Investigation Division
The Criminal Investigation Division is responsible for handling follow-up investigations on reported crimes. It is divided into four sections which are General Crimes, Crimes Against Children, White Collar, and Narcotics. This division also oversees two units which are Victim Advocate and Criminalistics.
Patrol Division
The Patrol Division is responsible for conducting daily patrols within the city of Saratosa. It provides 24/7 police service which include responding to calls for service, interviewing witnesses, conducting crash investigations, and collecting evidence. This division also oversees several units which include the K-9 Unit, School Resource Officers, and Marine Patrol Unit.
Support Services Division
The Support Services Division of the Sarasota Police Department is responsible for most non-operational activities that allow the Sarasota Police Department to provide law enforcement services to the community. This division oversees various units including SWAT, Emergency Response Team (ERT), and Crisis Negotiations Unit (CNU).
