The Leesburg Police Department provides law enforcement services to the people who live, work, and play in the community. It uses a community-oriented policing strategy and is staffed by 121 employees. The department is organized into three bureaus which are Uniform Patrol, Special Services & Investigations, and Support Services. It also has several specialized units such as SWAT or Special Weapons and Tactics, Narcotics/Vice, Crime Prevention, Traffic Unit, and Code Enforcement.

Uniform Patrol Bureau
The Uniform Patrol Bureau consists of four patrol teams that are staffed with 8 officers, a working corporal, and a sergeant. The bureau also has specialized units such as K-9 unit, traffic unit, and the vice/narcotics unit.
Criminal Investigations Division:
The Criminal Investigations Division handles felony investigations, civil forfeitures, and intelligence information. It is also responsible for any evidence collected by the officers. The officers of this division also handle missing persons investigations, crimes involving the abuse of a child or elder, and incidents of domestic violence.
