Crestview Police Department
The Crestview Police Department is committed to ensuring the safety and security of the citizens and visitors in the community. It consists of two main sections which are Administration and Operations. There are several divisions and units under Operations including Criminal Investigations, Patrol, and Special Enforcement.
Criminal Investigations
The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) consists of two sections which are General Investigations and the Special Enforcement Team. The General Investigations Section handles follow-up investigations that involve crimes such as homicide, burglary, child abuse, and battery. The Special Enforcement Team, on the other hand, investigates drug violations, “vice” crimes, and gang violence.
Patrol
The Field Operations Division is responsible for conducting preventive patrols and answering calls for police service. The K-9 Unit and the Traffic Unit are also under this division.
Auxiliary & Part-Time Unit
The Auxiliary & Part-Time Unit is made up of individuals who donate their time to the department without financial compensation. These officers provide support to the Patrol Division by performing patrol and traffic enforcement tasks.
