The Greenwood Park came alive early, Coulliette Street bustled with activity; Farmers with garden fresh fall produce, Crafters offering bejeweled treasures, bee keepers with jars of golden honey. Amazing 16 layer cakes, Jellies, the color of rubies and emeralds. The air carried the aroma of boiled peanuts; Citrus trees, rose bushes all ready to be planted in someone's back yard. The Market even boasted its very own cheerful "Bag Lady".
As the finishing adjustments were completed, the vendors trusted the adage:
"If you build, they will come"
And come they did . . . Friends, neighbors, old time town residents, new comers to Greenwood, Saturday Morning shoppers, the curious.
And THE CHILDREN
The word was out!! The pumpkin patch was open; complete with stacks of hay, scarecrows and pumpkins, 112 pumpkins were transformed into jack-o-lanterns.
The sky was clear, the shade cool and day a resounding success. You are invited to join in the next event to take place in the Greenwood Park when Couilliette Street once again is the center of community spirit and friendly activity.
Below are some photos of the fun.
